Bourdeilles is a beautiful little town in the French countryside. We visited there in the summer of 2022. I loved the bridge in the foreground and the castle in the background. I loved the classic French Blue shutters on almost every building. And I especially loved the interplay of light and shadow throughout this scene...bright triangles of sunlit lawn contrasted against dark shadowy foliage. A spattering of yellow moss floating on inky dark water. Diagonal shadows dancing across a wall, punctuated by tufts of foliage catching the sun. Architectural planes moving backward in space, alternating light side and dark side all the way to the horizon.
