Near the end of June this year, Conrad started this painting at Sego Lily Park in Salt Lake City. First off, it was a great location in the park. It is the first time Conrad's ever participated in a timed paint-off event. For him, the subject matter he chose was probably too complicated to execute in little over a couple of hours. As a result, the deadline closed in on him and he wasn't able to finish it to his satisfaction. Unfinished, he submitted it and participated in the show that followed the event. After a month, he collected the piece he'd been itching to complete and finished it in his studio.
