I grew up with "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires" and Bambi---and now they tell us that clearing out the deadwood from the occasional thunder strike is actually beneficial---that some pinecones only open up to scatter their seeds after the heat of a forest fire. I still think fire's crazy scary---but it does have some amazing light effects which I am curious about, and which was my motivation for this work. Plus the concept of life rising from ashes is intriguing.
